Weather Report
Thanks for that interesting take on Cinna's fashion Kailtyniavis. Now for the weather with Barbatus!(Smile nicely into camera) Today's weather is looking promising with sun, sun and guess what? More sun! Wait... This just in! It looks like there is a storm coming from the north! Bring your kids inside and tell you husbands to come home 'cause this storm is coming fast. Your going to need more then umbrellas and raincoats for this storm! According to outside sources there is flaming balls of fire, earthquakes and flying cows! Were not sure about the flying cows part cause our source is on fire. Hold on folks! We are on the phone with Cassius who seems to have an interesting opinion about this weird storm! (Pick up phone)
B-Good morning Cassius.
C-Who ever knew the heavens menace so?
B-Pardon? I don't understand...
C-To see the strange impatience of the heavens
Why all these things change from their ordinance
Now could I, Barbatus, Name thee man,
B-I'm not trying to be mean or anything Cassius, but honestly, I thought you stopped working
with Shakespeare more then 2 months ago. So you don't need to be talking like that. I don't
understand a thing your saying.
C-Thou shall not correct Cassius!
Now name thee man Barbatus
Caesar! He is to blame for this
Ye Gods are punishing thou
For he is to be crowned!
B- OK. So let my get this straight, your blaming Caesar for this storm, because he is going to be come king?
C- Thou is correct
B- Well, you must be going crazy! Before you know it someones going to murder Caesar. (laugh
hysterically)
C- (dial tone)
Well i guess Cassius was in the store or something and lost service. My opinion is that there is just a storm going through. Caesar has nothing to do with this people of Rome. No worries!
Well that's all the time we have today. So this is Barbatus signing off. And remember Rome, keep smiling.
Back to you Scottinvus.

Cut
By Patricia McCormick
1. The novel I chose is written by Patricia McCormick. Patricia is an author that writes novels for young adults. She has written 3 novels. Cut, My Brothers Keeper and Sold. Patricia's novels have won many awards such as Book list 2006 Editor's Choice Award and she was a National Book Award finalist.
2. The novel Cut is about a young girl who cuts her wrists. She has so much emotional pain that the only way she knows how to make it better is to cut herself. The girls name is Callie and she is only merely a teen and she is already at a treatment facility for her problem. She was sent to Sea Pines (the treatment facility) after her parents and Doctor found out she cuts herself. Through most of the book Callie refuses to speak a word. As the story unfolds you learn why Callie is in such emotional pain and why she cuts herself. One of the main reasons is because of her younger brother being very ill and she felt like it was her fault. Callie ends up running away from the treatment centre but soon realizes that she wants to get better so she returns.
3. The setting of this novel is mostly in the treatment facility (Sea Pines)also another large part of the novel is her having flashbacks. The atmosphere is the book is mostly dark. Just because of her being in a treatment centre makes me think of mental institutes, which i find very creepy. The story is also depressing and sad in some parts because as the story unfolds you learn how much pain Callie went through. The time period is in the 21st century and it goes through a whole year so all seasons.
4. Callie is a 15 year old girl that is a patient at Sea Pines treatment facility. Callie is at the treatments facility because she cuts her self. Hence the name of the novel, Cut. Callie is a very quiet shy girl that tends to be more of an antisocial. Through most of the book she never said one word until she gets used to the facility. Callie would stay in her room a lot in the book and when she cut herself it would be like an out of body experience for her.
5. I read this novel last year and i have to say i enjoyed it. It was interesting to me because of the way it told the story of whats in the mind of this girl. Ialso liked the way it described the out of body experiences she had. On the negative,Ifelt like the story really didn't have a climax. Its almost like you knew what was going to happen next. And the book also wasn't very suspenseful. The novel is a quick read and i would recommend it to anyone that likes these kinda books, but its probably not for someone that would be into the more science fiction type books.
